Hi, my name is Bella Destiny. I am 15 years old and I go to Pacific Coast High School. I am brunette with blue eyes I have been bullied ever since seventh grade. That’s when all my friends turned on me, that’s when i began to cry myself to sleep every night, that’s when my whole life changed.
It all started with the new kid, Michael Sterling. He was a Jock, a jokester, and a girl’s easy charmer. He has bright blue eyes and dark brown hair. He is tall and strong. He could get any girl in the school, they all loved him, but he chose me. he had asked me to the Homecoming dance at the last football game, “Hey bella I was will you go to formal with me?” I immediately said yes. I was overjoyed, his eyes were so dreamy and I couldn’t imagine going with anyone else. The next day at school he walked with me to all my classes, he made me feel special. I didn’t notice anyone that day, but man, they all noticed Michael and I. The next day I began to take notice of what was going on around me, and I finally spoke to Emily and Hailey, my best friends. Emily is tall with blue eyes and brown hair, and hailey is short, has dark brown eyes and reddish colored hair. We have been a trio since kindergarten. I asked them to go shopping with me for a homecoming dress, they both gave each other an ugly look. I tried to brush it off as they answered in a sarcastic tone “sure”. As I walked away, I heard Hailey say “She is such a show off. It is soooo annoying.” Then i heard Emily say “I know i can’t believe we were ever friends.” I tried to convince myself that they were talking about someone else., later I met them at Russe Charlotte shop that night.
Little did I know that they brought more girls with them, upset girls. I found the most beautiful dress, it cost $500. After purchasing the dress I walked outside when all of a suddenly they all shoved and dragged me into an alleyway. They began to push me around and call me names. I tried to push away but there were too many of them. “ha you loser, you think Michael really likes you?” COra, a buff tall scary chic, pinned me against the wall. “Listen up dork, i’ve heard stuff, is it true that you going to the homecoming dance with THE Michael Sterling? I choked trying to speak, she loosened her grip. “Spit out the truth moron.” gosh, her breath smelled like rotten fish. I heard everyone chanting “beat her up, beat her up COra!” Including Emily and Hailey. “Yes” I managed to say. After that, everything went black...I was unconscious for what seemed like hours.
When I awoke, I felt my skin stinging from pain. I was covered in raw cuts and bruises. I slowly raised from the cement paved ground feeling light-headed. I couldn’t think straight, I looked around the dark alleyway. My dress! Oh my beautiful dress was ripped to shreds tossed into a puddle of sewage water. I slowly lifted the ruined dress and I began to cry. I had saved up my money for months to buy this dress. That’s when i saw bright headlights coming my way. I looked up, it was my mom. She ran out of the car, along with my little brother and sister, and came towards me. “Bella! Sweetie i was so worried about you!” she hugged me. “Come on dear, let’s go home.” I grabbed my dress with high hopes that I could fix it.
I went to school the next day, only because I wanted to see Michael. “Hey Michael.” i said with a happy heart. He turned around and the smile on his face quickly fell. “Oh uh...hey bella.” He said uneasily. “Michael I need to talk to you.” I said on a more serious tone. I told him everything but he didn’t seem surprised to this news. “...You already heard about it, didn’t you?” my voice WAS shakING. “Yeah, well everyone has been talking about it.” He said with his eyes darting up and down. “Listen...about homecoming…” he started. “You don’t want to go with me anymore cause you think i’m a loser right?” I said rolling my eyes. “No, no of course not! Well I mean...sorta? I don’t know…” he said nervously. “Michael? Why would you ever say something like that to me? How could you? You’re just like them, ALL OF THEM!” I began to cry uncontrollably. He took a step back kind of in shock. I ran through the crowds of people watching in the hallway and everyone around me was chanting “Loser! Loser! You got turned down by Michael! Turndown turndown!” I kept running and I hid inside a bathroom stall for the rest of the school day. Why did i think it would ever work with him? We were total opposites. He was a popular, I was not. He was strong, I can barely lift my backpack. He was oh so handsome...and I was just...me. I cried and cried and cried, but nobody cared, nobody felt my pain. I felt so alone, so unwanted. I’m middle schools biggest joke now.
the torment continued in 8th grade, but then high school came along. I went to Pacific Coast, I hoped that there wouldn’t be anyone from my old middle school to continue the taunting. But, Cora came along. Gosh I hate her. She had her big mole removed and she let her hair grow out, rather than having a bob-cut. She uses breath mints now and she has bought better clothing. The first day as a Freshman, she said “Sup loser? You think you could get away from me that easy?” she smirked. More kids began to gather around us. “Guess what ‘Turn Down’? Michael and I are dating now, you jealous?” her eyes glared at me with victory. Everyone circled around us now. One kid began to chant “Fight! Fight! Fight!” It echoed all around me. “Come on turn down lets fight.” she laughed with fists made. Oh no, I thought. She is a professional at martial arts. If i fight her, she will win and I will look even more like a loser, but if i back out from the fight i will seem like a coward. So i picked up my fists and glared. I can’t make a fool of myself the first day of high school.
“You through the first punch dork!” she gestured towards me. I lunged towards her and then stopped midway. I realized if I start the fight i would be suspended, or even worse, expelled. I wasn’t going to start this. Ill get her back soon enough. I took a step back and said “No.” “Come on, don’t be even more of a loser.” she said snickering. “Did i ask for your opinion? Yeah. Thats what i thought.” I said and i walked away. Everyone fell silent and then one boy yelled “Oh snap, you just got burned by a ‘turn down’.” I couldn’t decide whether to take it as a compliment or not but i didn’t want to think about it.
A few weeks later, I got a message from a boy named Matthew James. I had no idea who he was. But he seemed so nice. “I remember seeing you back in middle school. You were so beautiful. I wish I had had the guts to do it back then.” This made me smile. “You always know how to make me smile.” My heart was pounding. “Isn’t that my job, to make you happy?” After talking for a month I couldn’t stand it anymore, I needed to meet him. I began to develop a crush on him. I decided to bring up the topic one night. “So...we should meet up sometime...don’t you think?” I texted. Two minutes later he responded “Yeah we totally should cutie.” My heart was beating even faster now. I can’t believe it, I will finally see him in real life.
I went to Sally’s frozen Yogurt shop to finally meet him, the one ! “Sweetie, be safe out there. Are you sure this boy is safe?” she questioned skeptically. “yes mom, he went to middle school with me. Thanks for the ride! she smiled and drove away. I walked into the frozen Yogurt shop bracing myself to see him. Gosh I hope that he is cute. I opened the door and walked in. I saw phone’s flashing and there was a projector that was showing my texts with Matthew. I froze, and I saw her, Cora. She had a microphone and she started reading the texts outloud. What is going on? “Oh matthew, how could i have not noticed such a sweet boy in middle school?!” I remember that text, oh gosh. “where is Matthew? And HOW did you get those texts?!” I questioned fighting back the tears. “Why, I didn’t know you were such a fool! You thought that such a perfect boy exists?” Cora smirked. “I...I don’t understand.” I said puzzled. “I am Matthew you moron! You are a turn-down! And that is all you will ever be.” She said laughing. Half of the freshman class was there, witnessing it all. I ran out the door crying, not looking where I was going because I didn’t care. I just kept running. i didn’t call my parents, and I just went and sat under a tree in a meadow thinking. I thought about school, my family, Cora, and Michael. I hadn’t thought about him for a while now. That night, I went home and cried and cried. I didn’t want to be on this planet anymore. I hate being a teenager...I hate being me.
I am now a Sophomore in high school writing this story to you, I just want my parents to know why i did what i am about to do. And by making this sketchy video I hope my story becomes noticed world wide. Goodbye Mom, Dad, Jimmy (my brother), Lacy (my sister) and Dales Brooke, my hometown. I LOVE Y’ALL. And I am sorry that this is the only way. *SCREEN GOES BLACK*
